Menopause can be defined as the post-reproductive phase in human females when the primary oocytes have been exhausted and it marks the stop of the menstrual cycle. It generally occurs at the age of 45 years. Right after the menopause, the females cannot reproduce.

Menarche can be defined as the reproductive event when the females attain the puberty and the menstrual cycle begins. The active ovulation occurs and females are capable of reproduction. It starts from the age of 11 years.
