Solution

Prokaryotic cell:

  2. A nuclear membrane does not exist in prokaryotes and the genetic material is present in the nucleoid located in the cytoplasm.
  3. They have a single membrane and all the reactions occur within the cytoplasm.

Mesosomes:

  1. Mesosomes are a type of infoldings of the cell membrane that are commonly found in prokaryotic cells.
  2. They are believed to be involved in different functions such as cell division, DNA replication, and oxidative phosphorylation.
  3. They are thought to be related to cristae of mitochondria found in eukaryotes because of the similarity in the functions they perform.
