The multiplicative inverse of a number is defined as the number which when multiplied with the given number gives the product as 1.It is also known as reciprocal.

Multiplicative inverse OF a = 1/a= a-1

Multiplicative identity:

Multiplying a number by 1 leaves it unchanged , so 1 is multiplicative identity.

8×1 = 8 = 1×8
