Muscular tissue:

  • The muscular tissue form the contractile tissue of the body and are made of muscle cells or muscle fibres.
  • Muscle cells are large and also elongated, hence called as muscle fibres.

Striated muscles

  • Striated muscles are also known as striped, skeletal, or voluntary muscles.
  • The striated muscle fibres cells are cylindrical, unbranched, long and non-tapering.
  • Striated muscle cells are multinucleated.

Function

  • Striated muscles help in locomotion and all other voluntary movements of the body.
