  1. Infection caused by different species of the bacteria Mycoplasma in various parts of the body.
  2. Example- Mycoplasma pneumoniae causes a lung infection known as ‘walking pneumonia’.

Walking pneumonia:

  1. It is caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae.
  2. It spreads through contact with droplets.
  3. The contagious period is probably fewer than 10 days.

Symptoms:

Fever, cough, bronchitis, sore throat, headache, etc.
