a. As per the 1990 National Commission for Women Act, National commission for women was established in 1992, an organisation primarily dealing with the issues concerning women.
b. It is indeed a statutory body, established by law and seeks to represent, promote and protect the rights of women.
c. The commission has been dealing with varied issues pertaining to women, like dowry, domestic violence, in politics, equal representation of women , exploitation at the work place etc.
d. The commission has taken up many cases from time to times related women harassment, atrocities against women.
e. It seeks to promote women's identity respect for for their rights.
