Nitrogen fixation is defined as the process of reduction of nitrogen to ammonia by the action of some chemical or biological agent. The enzyme, nitrogenase which is capable of nitrogen reduction is exclusively present in prokaryotes. Such microbes are called as Nitrogen-fixers. The microbes bringing nitrogen fixation can be free-living or symbiont. Such as-
