Solution

Noble gas — these are also called inert gas

  • they have a stable electronic configuration
  • they have a complete octet or valence shell
  • they are odorless, colorless, non-flammable, and monoatomic gases that have low chemical reactivity
  • Due to fully filled valence electron shell, they are stable.
  • They were once labeled group zero in the periodic table due to zero valency
  • they are unable to form a chemical bond due to the little tendency to gain or lose electrons
  • Xenon { Xe} may form compounds with fluoride and oxide it is an exception to noble gases

for example — He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Rn, Xe and At { astatine a radioactive noble gas }
