Noise pollution :

  1. Sound that is unwanted or disrupts one's quality of life is called noise.
  2. It is generally defined as regular exposure to elevated sound levels that may lead to adverse effects in humans or other living organisms.

Major sources that contribute to noise pollution are :

  1. Public and private transportation vehicles - these are one of the daily causes of noise pollution in the streets of metropolitan and cosmopolitan cities.
  2. Industries - there are so many industries and their machinery that creates severe disturbing and hazardous sounds to the people living nearby along with the industrial workers.
  3. Construction sites -It's a known thing that every construction area uses large equipment like cranes, cement mixtures, bulldozers, and crushers.
  4. Loudspeakers - using loudspeakers in public or private areas like residential, commercial establishments, and DJs.
  5. Explosions, aircraft noises, etc are making environmental noise pollution.

Effects of noise pollution :

  1. Hearing loss.
  2. High blood pressure.
  3. Stress.
  4. Sleep disturbance.

Minimizing methods of noise pollution :

  1. Reduce sound in your space voluntarily.
  2. Reduce the use of horns.
  3. Increase the population of trees in your surroundings as well.
  4. Better to switch to electric vehicles.
  5. Do not allow factories in living places.
