  • This act was passed in September 2005.
  • The objectives of NREGA 2005 is to implement the right to work law in 200 districts of the country in the first phase of its implementation.
  • The mandate of the Act is to provide at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment in a financial year to every rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work.
  • It also says, if the government is unable to provide employment, employment allowance shall be given to the people.
