Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Parliamentary form of government can be described as the executive organ of the government as a part of the legislature.
  • In this type of government, the party who secures the majority of votes forms the government and the leader of the party is termed as the Prime Minister.
  • The Prime Minister appoints members of the parliament to the cabinet who exercise executive functions. Other minority parties serve as opposition of majority and keep challenging it regularly.
  • Whenever the ruling party loses the confidence of the majority of ruling party or the parliament, the Prime minister may be removed from its office.
  • The parliamentary system originated in Britain and was later implemented by several of its colonies.
