What is PEN(Primary Endospermic Nucleus)?

this is the product of Triple fusion in angiosperm. One male nucleus fuses with the polar nuclei or polar body in the egg apparatus. The resultant triploid nucleus is called as PEN. It gives rise to endosperm as in maize.
