  3. All the actinides are radioactive as their nucleus is highly unstable.
  4. These elements are highly electropositive.
  5. When these elements react with boiling water and dilute acid, Hydrogen gas is released.
  6. Most of the actinides have the same property as the transition metals.
  7. Example of Actinides- UraniumU, ThoriumTh etc.
  8. Actinides are used in the generation of energy, nuclear weapons etc.
  9. Some actinides help in the detection of smoke.
