Open in App
Solution

Dear Student, The space filled with fluid present between zona pellucida and the cell membrane of egg to be fertilised is called perivitelline space. The cortical granules produced by the ovum get deposited in the perivitelline space to prevent polyspermy and allow only single sperm to fertilise egg. Regards
