Phase transition:

  1. A phase transition is a transition from one state to another.
  2. The abrupt change in one or more physical properties with an infinitesimal change in temperature defines a phase transition.

Examples:

  1. When liquid water freezes, it forms ice cubes.
  2. Melting is the process by which ice cubes dissolve.
  3. Condensation is the formation of dew on the grass in the morning.
  4. When water boils and turns into steam, this is referred to as vaporization.
