Solution

Photosynthesis is the process of conversion of water and carbon dioxide into carbohydrate (glucose) and oxygen in the presence of sunlight.

Photosynthesis occurs in the presence of green pigment called chlorophyll which can trap the solar energy. Using the solar energy carbohydrate and oxygen is produced inside the plant. The glucose produced in the plant is stored in the form of starch.

The reaction of photosynthesis is:
Carbon dioxide + Water →chlorophyll and sunlight→ Glucose + Oxygen
