Plasmatic growth is the process of increase in the size of the cell which leads to differentiation.
In plants, plasmatic growth refers to an increase in cell division of the meristematic cells leading to differentiation which further leads to maturity and senescence.
Phases of development in plants:
Formative phase: Plants grow by cell division which includes karyokinesis and cytokinesis.
Cell enlargement and differentiation: The size of cells, tissues, and organs increases by the formation of protoplasm and vacuolation.
Cell maturity: The enlarged cells acquire a definite shape and function.
