- The process of transferring of pollen grains from the male anther of a flower to the stigma of a female flower is called pollination.
- Pollination can be of two types:-
1) Cross-pollination- When the pollen grains are transferred from the stamen of one flower to the stigma of a flower on another plant of the same species. Cross-pollination is achieved by different pollinating agents such as wind, water and insects etc.
2) Self-pollination- When the pollen grains are transferred from the anthers of one flower to the stigma of the same flower.
