Polygenic inheritance:

  1. Polygenic inheritance is a type of quantitative inheritance in which numerous independent genes have an additive or similar effect on a single quantitative trait.
  2. It is also known as multiple-factor inheritance or multiple gene inheritance.
  3. Many human features such as skin or hair color, height, eye color, disease risk and resistance, intellect, bipolar disorder, blood pressure, autism, and so on, show polygenic inheritance in which multiple genes control their inheritance in the offspring.
