As the name suggests “pop sound test” is the test that is performed to detect combustible gas.
This gas will immediately catch fire when exposed to heat or fire.
With the help of such test we can also identify the presence of Hydrogen gas, as the gas is highly reactive.
To perform the test we need Oxygen as the process is combustible.
The heat given in the combustion process will lead to expanding the gases, and therefore it removes the sound barrier and a pop sound will be produced.
The reaction between Hydrogen and Oxygen produces water.
When metals react with dilute acid, Hydrogen gas is released as their by-product.
