Smog is a form of visible air pollution created out of ozone, nitrogen and sulfur oxides, smoke or other particles. Many factors can cause smog for instance, automobile and industrial emissions, agricultural fires and natural forest fires and the reaction these chemicals cause among themselves. The word smog is a portmanteau of the words smoke and fog.
The smog in its modern sense, that’s present in our cities, arises from the fumes of our cars and the automobile emissions which when in the atmosphere react with secondary pollutants to create smog.

  • Photochemical creation of smog (Through reaction under sunlight)
  • Natural Causes such as erupting volcanoes and some of the plant species.
