Profibrinolysin is an inactive enzyme secreted in seminal fluid. Remember that semen is a thick substance, in which the sperms cannot swim. After insemination, as the semen reaches the female tract, then it is converted to fibrinolysin which is active. The role of fibrinolysin is to make the semen liquidified or thin or decoagulated, so that the sperms can swim in the tract to reach the fallopian tube.
