Psychotropic drugs are those drugs which affect the activities of brain associated with mental processes, psychic experience and behavior. These drugs are actually used in treatment of psychological disorder. However, without prescription, these drugs are misused. Examples of these drugs includes anti-psychotic drugs, antidepressants, antianxiety drugs, hypnotics. Xanax (alprazolam), Prozac (fluoxetine), Anafranil (clomipramine) are commonly prescribed psychotropic drugs for the treatment.
