What is Pulmonary Ventilation - Inspiration?

Open in App
Solution

Pulmonary Ventilation - Inspiration:

  1. Breathing is a term used to describe pulmonary ventilation.
  2. It's the movement of air into and out of the lungs during inspiration (inhalation) and expiration (exhalation) .
  3. The environment and the gases inside the lungs have different pressures, so air flows through them.
  4. It is the process through which air is exchanged between the alveoli and the rest of the environment.
  5. The lungs contract and expand, allowing air to flow in and out.
  6. The diaphragm contracts and drags the intrapleural cavity down, causing it to enlarge.
  7. Due to the ribs' elevation, the intrapleural cavity also expands.
  8. As a result of these circumstances, the intrapleural cavity's pressure drops, air flows into the lungs, and inspiration occurs.
