What is pulping? How is an uncoated paper converted into coated paper?

Solution
The process of waste paper recycling involves mixing of used paper with water and chemicals to break down the fibres and cellulose. The mixture is then chopped up and heated, which breaks down the paper further into strands of cellulose, a type of organic plant material. This resulting mixture is called as pulp or slurry. This process is called as pulping. The uncoated papers can be treated with clay coatings. These papers are then rolled with the help of rollers which allows the smooth and glossy finish on the paper. This paper can be called as coated paper and absorbs less ink when compared to the uncoated paper.
