a2+b2=c2
where
c is the longest side of the triangle, called the "hypotenuse"
a and b are the other two sides
The most common example of pythagorean triplet is a 3,4,5 triplet.
The triplet stands for a triangle that has side lengths in the ratio 3:4:5.
