See the above punnet square, you will see that the tall and short plant is giving all tall plants in first generation.
First generation is called F1 generation.So 100% tall.
When F1 individuals (Tt) are crossed , they give rise to F2 generation.
In the F2 generation, we get 3 tall plants and 1 short plant.So te ratio of F2 generation here is 3 tall and 1 sort.
We say it 3:1 ratio.
