Recycling waste is an excellent way of energy conservation of the ecosystem. As paper is made from the wood, recycling it conserves trees and other natural resources, saves energy and reduces greenhouse gases that are emitted by paper making industries. It takes 17 trees to make 1 ton of paper so recycling will help to reduce trees cutting significantly. Also energy required for recycling paper is 70% less as compared to making it from raw materials. It also helps to free land for non recyclable trash. Recycling of paper makes use of old and used paper which is further processed it in recycling industry. Recycling of one ton of paper saves 7000 gallons of water and energy that can light an average home for six months. Also the number of energy intensive steps that uses water is reduced in case of recycling paper into new paper. Different paper types such as cardboard, newsprints and office papers are made out of recycled paper. With every recycle, paper fibre becomes weaker, shorter and brittle. So paper can be recycled for an average of seven times before it is discarded.
