Retrograde signaling:

  1. The process in which a signal travels backward from a target source to its original source is known as retrograde signaling.
  2. It means that it is the process by which retrograde messenger such as nitric oxide is released by a postsynaptic dendrite or cell body and travels backward across a chemical synapse to bind to the axon terminal of presynaptic neurons.
