Sound undergoes frequent reflections in a hall or auditorium. This causes one sound to be heard several times this is called a reverberation of sound.

1)The seats and other furniture in the auditorium act as sound-absorbing materials.

2)They absorb the sound and prevent the reverberation of sound.
