Question

What is reversible reaction example?

Open in App
Solution

  1. Reversible reaction is the reaction that occurs in both directions that is forward and backward direction.
  2. It is a chemical reaction that does not exhaust over time i.e. reactants continuously form the products and products continuously form the reactants.
  3. In simpler words the reaction in which the reactant and products are formed simultaneously is called a reversible reaction.
  4. The reactant molecules are broken down to form product molecules by generating enough energy.
  5. The rate of the reaction in both directions is not equal to each other.
  6. Still, in reversible reaction equilibrium conditions can be achieved at a certain period of time.
  7. Example: Formation of Anhydrous Copper (II) SulphateCuSO4 and water by Hydrated Copper (II) sulphateCuSO4.5H2O
  8. The reaction occur as follows:
    CuSO4.5H2O(s)(Hydratedcopper(II)sulphate)CuSO4s+H2O
