Rigidity : It is the state in which the particles of a substance are fixed in their positions.

Rigidity refers to the property of a solid to resist change in its shape, when an outside force is applied . In most simple term , rigidity means stiffness. The particle in a solid are very closely packed and there is very strong forces of attraction between them, so solids possess high rigidity.

Rigidity is the property of a structure that it does not bend or flex under an applied force.
