Samara:

  1. It is a simple dry fruit.
  2. It can have one or two seeds.
  3. It has a fibrous, paper like outgrowth of the ovary wall which helps in dispersal of seeds.
  4. Due to this it is known as winged fruit
  5. Example: Maple and ash trees.

Schizocarp:

  1. These are simple dry fruit.
  2. It arises from a single ovary of a single flower.
  3. It has two carpels which when matured os split into half.
  4. Which is known as mericarps.
  5. Example: Blueberries and raspberries.
