What are sequence and series?

Open in App
Solution

Sequence: A sequence is a group of numbers in an ordered way following a pattern.

Series: A series is a sum of the elements of the sequence.

Example: 2,4,6,8,10,.... is an arithmetic sequence with a common difference 2.

Then the corresponding series is 2+4+6+8+10+.....

The series can be finite and infinite which depends on the type of sequence whether it is finite or infinite.
