Sertoli cells can be defined as the nurse cells that forms a part of seminiferous tubules in the testes. It plays an very important role in spermatogenesis.It is the process of formation of sperms.
The main function of sertoli cells is to nourish the developing sperm cells through the different stages of spermatogenesis. Therefore it is called as the mother or nurse cells.
