Sheehan's syndrome:

1. Sheehan's syndrome (SS) is a type of postpartum hypopituitarism caused by the necrosis of the pituitary gland.
2. It is the result of a major hemorrhage during or after birth, which causes severe hypotension or shock.
3. The deficiency of the anterior pituitary hormone affects the patients with SS to varying degrees.
4. Sheehan syndrome is characterized by low hormone levels and the patients have several symptoms.
5. Inability to produce breast milk, irregular or absent menstrual cycle, heat flashes, and diminished sex drive are all possible symptoms of patients with SS.
6. Other symptoms include headaches, fatigue, low blood pressure, and hair loss.
