Question

What is sieving and where do we use it?

Open in App
Solution

Sieving is a method of separating the components of a mixture if they differ in size.
We use this method to separate wheat flour from its bran. Here, fine powdered particles of wheat flour pass through the sieve and the huge bran particles stay on the sieve. Sieving is also used to separate tea leaves from the liquid and seeds from fruit juice with the help of a strainer.
