Open in App
Solution

The combustion reactions which take place slowly and give less amount of heat are termed as slow combustion reactions.
When a material burns at a slow or moderate rate slow combustion takes place. It occurs in insufficient supply of air or oxygen. Combustion is never complete. During slow combustion soot is formed which pollutes the ait. It also leads to formation of Carbon monoxide which is a hghly poisonous gas. The processes of rusting, digestion of food are few examples for slow combustion.

[Combustion is a chemical process in which a substance reacts with oxygen to give off heat. sometimes light is also given off during combustion, either as a flame(burning of wood) or as a glow(burning of magnesium ribbon)]
