Solution
Instructions:
Define soil erosion(1M). Mention any 4 causes of it(4M).
Solution:
soil erosion means transportation of soil from one place to another place by certain agents such as air and water.
Factors that can cause soil erosion are:
Running water: Water transports the soil with its force from one place to another.
Wind: When wind carries the soil particles along with it and leaves behind an eroded land
Deforestation: Trees and their roots provide the soil with an anchor, as well as shelter from the wind and rain. When forests are wiped out, the land becomes exposed, leaving it vulnerable to being washed or blown away by water or wind.
Overgrazing: Overgrazing contributes to soil erosion because it removes the plants that help secure the soil in place when winds or water acts on it to remove the soil.
