What is solenoid ? Explain it.

Dear student

A solenoid is a coil having large number of turns of wire wound on a long cylindrical object. When a current is pased through a wire, magnetic field is produced around and inside the solenoid.

Magnetic field at centre of long solenoid is given as

B= μ0nI
n- number of turns per unit length of solenoid, I-current flowing through the wire of coil
