Let Sonia's present age be 'S' years and that of Deepak's be 'D' years.

S=5D [From I] ....... (i)

Now their respective ages five years ago will be , (S5) and (D5) years.

S5=25(D5)S5=25D125S=25D120 [From II]....(ii)

Now substituting the value of S from (i)in (ii),we get,

5D=25D120

5D25D=120

20D=120

D=6 years

S=5×6=30 years

Thus, we can say that, Both I and II are necessary to answer the question.
