Speciation is formation of a new species. For speciation to occur, there has to be mechanisms if isolation.Populations should not reproduce.They have to be reproductively isolated.
Populations may be present very far or even if they are in the same habitat , they may have different time zone when they are active.So does not allow the two populations to meet.
