What is spinning?

Open in App
Solution

Spinning is the process of twisting together of single strands of fibers to form yarn, and is a major part of the textile industry. The yarn is then used to create textiles, which are then used to make clothing and many other products.

Fibres are small strands, or, very fine thread.
These fibres cannot be directly used to make clothes as they break easily.
These fine fibres are used for spinning. In this process, many fine fibres are twisted together , to make a long thread (yarn) that wont break easily.

These threads are then used for weaving, where they are turned into clothes.
