They are harmful to all living organisms, in humans they cause diseases such as asthma and lung cancer and in plants theycan clog stomatal openings and interfere with photosynthesis functions. They also decrease the visibility during winters and may lead to traffic congestions and accidents. stands for Suspended particulate matter.
