Open in App
Solution

82.3°E is the longitude which passes through India and divides the country in approximately half. Due to the county's vastness, sunrise and sunset are earlier in A&N islands and in Arunachal Pradesh and slower in Lakshwadeep, Rajasthan and Gujarat. To cope up with this time difference, 82.3°E has been made as standard meridian.
