Solution

Stroke volume is the volume of blood pumped out of the heart by the ventricles with each heartbeat. Cardiac output is the volume of blood pumped out of the heart by the ventricles per minute. Hence, stroke volume is equal to 60 to 70 ml of blood/heartbeat and cardiac output is equal to 3 to 5 liters of blood per minute.
