What is Sudin's rank in the class of 44 students?
Statement I. Ramesh, whose rank is 17th in the class,is ahead of Shyam by 6 ranks, Shyam being 7 ranks ahead of Sudin.
Statement II. Suketu is 26 ranks ahead of Sudin and Shyamala is 6 ranks behind Sudin while Savita stands exactly in the middle of Shyamala and Suketu in ranks, her rank being 17.

The correct option is C If the data in either statement I alone or statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question;
According to statement I : Ramesh Rank = 17 and Ramesh ahead of shyam by 6 ranks therefore shyam rank is 17+6=23 and shaym being 7 ranks ahead of sudin so sudin's rank = 23+7=30
So according to statement I : Sudin's rank is 30

According to Statement II : Let us consider sudin's rank be x, since suketu is 26 rank ahead of sudin so suketu's rank is x26, shyamala is 6 ranks behind sudin so shyamala rank is x+6, and savita is in the middle of shyamala and suketu so savita rank is mean of shyamala and suketu's rank i.e. x10 and it is given as 17, so x=27, and we know x is sudin's rank
So according to statement II : Sudin's rank is 27

So Option C is correct as data in statement I or Statement II alone are sufficient to answer.
