97, 89, 81, 73,....

The series follows a pattern of subtraction of 8.
97 - 8 = 89
89 - 8 = 81
81 - 8 = 73
73 - 8 = 65
65 - 8 = 57
57 - 8 = 49
49 - 8 = 41
So the series is 97, 89, 81, 73, 65, 57, 49....
Hence the 7th term of the sequence is 49.
