Active mass : It is defined as the number of moles present in one liter. Or we can say that the concentration of a reacting substance expressed in moles per liter.

As we know that,

At NTP, the 1 mole of gas contains 22.4 liter volume of gas

As, 22.4 L volume of nitrogen gas present in 1 mole of nitrogen gas

So, 1 L volume of nitrogen gas present in 122.4=0.044 mole of nitrogen gas
