Mass of the car, m=1000 kg.
The initial velocity of the car, u=10 kmhr1=10×518=2.78 ms1.
Final velocity v=20 kmhr1=20×518=5.56 ms1.
With the mass and velocities,
we can find the initial and final kinetic energies.
Initial Kinetic Energy=12mu2=12×1000×(2.78)2
= 3864.2 J
Final Kinetic Energy=12mv2=12×1000×(5.56)2
= 15456.8 J
The difference in these values would give us the amount of work done.
Work done = Change in kinetic energy
= 15456.8 J - 3864.2 J
= 11592.6 J
